On giving and asking to give

Scenario number one: Have you ever been 'asked' to do something by someone expecting you to agree? How did you feel? Did you feel 'put on the spot'? Did you feel trapped, like you 'had' to agree? Like it was being forced from you? Did you say 'no' right away and stop the situation right then-and-there? Or, if you did give, did you give freely...or grudgingly with resentment?

Scenario number two: Have you ever been asked to do something by someone who allowed you to say 'no'? By someone who said, "I appreciate you considering it, regardless of whether you give or not"? What was your reaction to this question? Did you find it easier to give?

We've all been on both sides at one time or another. And it's something to consider the next time we're asked or doing the asking. It's more fun to give freely - and we tend to give MORE. And when given freely, both the asker and the giver 'win'.
