Smiles say a lot

When someone you don't know smiles at you for no apparent reason, what do you do? Do you smile back warmly or do you turn away? Are you able to receive the love that person is sending out? To enjoy it fully for yourself? And are you able to then send it back? Or do you turn away with a frown, maybe because the person smiling is happy and you're not?

If you smile genuinely with love at a baby, the baby will always smile back. So try this experiment: the next time you're out for a walk somewhere, smile genuinely at a child and notice their reaction. Try it a few times with different children. Then try it with an adult. And a series of adults. Notice their reactions. It's an interesting experiment, isn't it? It says a lot about someone who can smile back.

So the next time someone smiles at you for no apparent reason, watch your own reaction... It might give insight to how you're feeling about yourself.
